MoA signed to develop joint research on T&CM


A tripartite memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between UTAR, Hai-O Enterprise Berhad and Tung Shin Hospital on 8 July at Menara Hai-O.  


Traversing culture using VR and AR in creative media


UTAR Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) together with Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) organised a two-day event titled “Redefining Reality: Traversing Culture between VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) in Creative Media” on 1 and  2 July 2019 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus.  


The annual R&D Colloquium returns


Focusing on the theme ‘Industry Revolution 4.0 in the Circular Economy’, UTAR’s annual R&D Colloquium 2019 (1.0) returns this year with greater objectives at its Kampar Campus on 29 June 2019.  


Fruitful exchange with JYU on Hakka research


Delegates from Jiaying University (JYU), China visited UTAR Kampar Campus on 27 June 2019. Visiting on behalf of JYU were Vice President Xue Fangcun, Hakka Research College Vice Dean Song Dejian, International Exchange and Cooperation Office Director Zhang Yangfen and Section Chief Wen Gangming.  


Silver and Bronze in Karate Championship


A team consisting of five athletes from UTAR namely, Chew Kai Yuan, Kok Zhi Yuan, Tan Kok Xyuen, Tan Chia Wen and Tee Xi Wen participated in the “1st TAR UC Goshin-Ryu Karate Championship 2019” at TAR UC Setapak Campus on 22 June 2019. The championship was organised by TAR UC Karate Club.  


Medical Week provides multidisciplinary healthcare services to society


The Medical and Health Science Society together with Physiotherapy society and Traditional and Chinese Medicine Society organised the Medical Week 2.0 from 21 until 22 June 2019. Themed ‘Healthy Living’, the event aimed to provide multidisciplinary healthcare services to the society with its slogan “Public Health We Care, Community We Serve”.  


Signing MoU to integrate contemporary technology in the classroom


UTAR and Auto Count Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 17 June 2019 at Sungai Long Campus. Signing the MoU were UTAR President Ir Prof Academician Dato’ Dr Chuah Hean Teik and Auto Count Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Choo Yan Tiee while witnessing....

Engineering team wins all-expense trip to New York as Finalist in Keysight's IoT Innovation Challenge


UTAR students, Au Jin Cheng, Yap Sheng Yao, Khor Jun Bin, Lim Wen Qing, and Tan Kai Siang, have been selected as finalists in Keysight Technologies, Inc.’s IoT Innovation Challenge. The team is the only finalist selected from the Asia-Pacific and Greater China region.

The Times Higher Education (THE) published for the first time on Wednesday 3 April 2019, the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2019. According to THE, this is their pioneering initiative to recognize universities across the world for their social and economic impact, based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
